Thanks! I really appreciate your doing this. As much as I enjoy reading the reviews of new stuff by yourself and others, there is a whole slew of albums that came before that I no nothing about. And, just being the guy I am, I tend to prefer the tried and true over the new and now.

"I’ve been in love with Jean Larrivee guitars for quite a while and this one was a joy to play."

I first discovered Larrivees about 15 years ago when they had tons of inlay. Things have toned down a bit, but I still love the feel and sound. Great guitars.

Might take a bit longer for me because my mind tends to wonder a bit but hopefully I'll keep it going. I've all ready seen an improvement in my all around playing since I started this diet.
Thanks for the response, It's good to hear I'm not alone.

Wow, your post could have been written by me - both about writing things down, etc. AND about dieting LOL.

Keep on plugging. It's been proven that if you want to form a new habit it only takes 21 days of repetition.

I laughed over this post! Half way through I was thinking, "Aaaw heck, take the dang thing and you can play only just little if your fingers hurt too much." And then I kept reading and laughed out loud when you said you were taking it. I LOVE IT!!! Of course you will take it. The laptop can wait, that's not the soul of you. the guitar is!

The pics are lovely. Years and years ago I lived in CO and loved it. And camping is the "bomb", such good fun and the best place to have a guitar. All that nature flowing into you and you'll find yourself regretting it if you don't take it. :) Have fun and HAPPY TUNES!! Rainforestrobin :)

Thanks! We did have a great time. Got some good playing in while the kids played in the water. Didn't have a recorder with me so that sucks. Had some good ideas I can't recall now.

Thanks Larry for the comment. I'm glad to hear that I'm not alone with the Martin. The Kyser has worked really well for me two but I did have to put it in the case for a day or two. Humidity was at about 5% and it couldn't take it. I didn't know that birch was part of the guitar so thanks for that information and that does explain a lot. I know the sides are redwood but coudn't get a definitive answer on the rest. Not much info on the SWD's out there.
Once again thanks for your thoughts and agree that the bright sound of the SWD is wonderful, when kept watered.

Hi Larry,
I also have a SWD among other guitars, live in Colorado, and have had the biggest challenge with the Martin SWD as far as keeping it humidified. I use the Kyser’s on three guitars and have been very happy with them. On the SWD I have to sometimes loosen the string while keeping the Kyser nice and moist for a week or two if the guitar really gets dry. I have tried the other humidifiers you mentioned and agree except that I my experience with the Dampit is that it dries out very fast compared to the Kyser, (Taylor Guitars recommends not using the plastic cover). I had also tried a Planet Wave and like you will throw my away because it is now useless. I do think that part of the challenge with the SWD is the softer birch which allows it to dry out and shrink faster than harder woods. I still enjoy the bright sound so I’ll keep my around and water it regularly.
Thanks for your posted comments.
